Beautiful & Hard Wearing
Stonevale Site Services Ltd can create a drive of your choice, from Tarmac, block paving to resin bound and resin bond.
Our paving system offers natural and recylced materials, unlimited colours, and a design flexibility no other type of paving can match.
Under new legislation, planning permission is now required for all house front paving over 5 square metres in area, unless the paving has been constructed to prevent uncontrollable run off of rain water onto and into water courses.
The key feature of resin bound surfaces is that it is permeable and therefore can be used when laid over a suitable base without planning permission.
Resin Bond vs Resin Bonded
With resin bound the aggregate is mixed with the resin and then applied. With resin bonded the resin is applied to the surface and then the dry aggregate is applied to this.
Pros:
Resin Bound: Porous, SUDS compliant, decorative, easily shaped, various designs can be incorporated, wide assortment of different aggregate and hence colours available. Can be applied to existing surface if sound and edging in place or can be added. Tough, hard wearing. Easily cleaned. Oil resistant. Excellent for disabled access - smooth and tough. Resilient to weed growth.
Resin Bonded: Can be applied to existing levels as finished thickness approx. 6mm (depending on aggregate size). Decorative. Hard wearing. Resilient to weed growth.
Cons:
Resin Bound: Cannot be laid in wet conditions.
Resin Bonded: Rough finish. Aggregate can work loose if subjected to hard vehicle turning or excessive power steering.
